Prayer for true manhood also applies to women.  Just as men benefit from embracing the feminine nature of God, so women are strengthened as they acknowledge their need to bring into their experience those masculine qualities that give power to their lives.  The concept of our Father-Mother God calls upon all of us to see our complete nature as a child of God.  A hymn from the Christian Science Hymnal states, “O Father-Mother God, whose plan, Hath given dominion unto man, In Thine own image we may see Man pure and upright, whole and free.” (Hymn 12)  Our privilege this month is to respect and honor manhood wherever we see it.  The Reading Room thanks you.
