There are times when it appears that good fortune falls to those who have not earned it legitimately. Yet that sense of riches and security is seen to be temporary. Proverbs tells us, “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper. (Prov. 28:13) Mary Baker Eddy, the author of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, echoes this thought when she says, “Covering iniquity will prevent prosperity and the ultimate triumph of any cause.” (SH 336:30-31) We can be reassured that our honest labors and right motives will bring to us the abundance and safety we deserve.
