“They are sticklers for a false, convenient peace, straining at gnats and swallowing camels.” (My. 211:1-3). This statement from The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, By Mary Baker Eddy, is an apt description of the hypocrite. Those people who hold themselves up as standards of conduct, while demeaning others, are to be avoided. When you see this type of behavior, be sure you are bringing compassion and honesty to the moment and uphold integrity for everyone involved. This charge to purify our relationships and dismiss hypocrisy is given to us by the Reading Room for October.
