“Love one another,” (I John iii:23) is the most simple and profound counsel of the inspired writer.” So writes Mary Baker Eddy in her textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, on page 572. Though simple, it is also the one of the hardest Biblical guidance to follow. We find ourselves justifying our attitudes toward others rather than purifying our outlook in regard to our fellowman. Yet, when we truly look at our neighbor, we see the good in him, understand his viewpoint, and find common ground to respect him, the beginning of obedience to the call to Love on another. Let’s strengthen our ability to recognize our neighbor’s worth and treat them with dignity. Acknowledging and loving our neighbor is our March prayer topic from the Reading Room.
